⚠️ Important Information - Sigils

Before attempting to upgrade an item, make sure to check out the Sigils page. Sigils can significantly enhance your items and may influence your upgrading strategy. Plan your upgrades wisely to maximize the potential of your equipment!

How Upgrading Works​

1. Criteria for Upgrading​

  • Level Requirement: Players must meet a higher level requirement to upgrade an item compared to crafting it.
  • Recipe Unlock: Upgrade recipes are revealed only when players meet the required criteria for the specific item.

2. Materials Required​

  • Base Materials: Similar to the materials needed for crafting the item.
  • Upgrade Charges: A special component crafted from monster essence and additional materials.
  • Essence Sources: Monster essence is obtained by defeating enemies in Schadencell.

Benefits of Upgrading​

Each successful upgrade improves the main stats of the item and increases its durability. Below are the specific benefits per item type:

Weapons (Sword, Axe, Bow, Staff, Wand, Whip, Spear)​

  • Stats Enhanced:
    • Critical strike chance.
    • Damage output.
    • Attack speed or other weapon-specific attributes.
  • Durability: Each upgrade increases the weapon’s durability.

Armor​

  • Stats Enhanced:
    • Defense (damage mitigation percentage).
    • Secondary stats (if present, such as dodge or parry ratings).
  • Durability: Increased with each upgrade.

Shields​

  • Stats Enhanced:
    • Block chance (probability of successfully blocking attacks).
    • Block power (damage absorbed during partial blocks).
  • Durability: Improved for sustained use.

Tools (Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel)​

  • Stats Enhanced:
    • Mining, chopping, or digging efficiency.
    • Ability to interact with higher-tier materials.
  • Durability: Each upgrade extends the tool’s lifespan.

Upgrade Progression​

  • Maximum Level: +10.
  • Scaling Improvements: Each level provides a noticeable enhancement in the targeted stat(s) and durability.
  • Cost Increase: Higher upgrade levels require more materials, higher-quality essences, and additional upgrade charges.

Forging Stations​

  • Locations: Forging Stations are spread throughout Schadencell and accessible to all players.
  • Upgrade Process:
    1. Bring the item to be upgraded and all required materials to a Forging Station.
    2. Select the desired item for upgrading.
    3. If all criteria are met, the upgrade will succeed, and the item will be enhanced.

Strategic Tips​

  1. Plan Upgrades: Focus on upgrading items crucial to your build first, such as primary weapons or armor.
  2. Farm Monster Essence: Engage in battles regularly to gather enough monster essence for crafting upgrade charges.
  3. Balance Durability: Ensure you maintain upgraded items to maximize their durability and reduce repair frequency.
  4. Risk vs. Reward: High upgrades are resource-intensive but offer significant boosts to performance. Invest wisely.
